EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality has an opportunity to
hire as many as three people to work primarily on transportation climate
issues. We are looking for people in three areas:
an engineer with demonstrated expertise on personal vehicle fuel
economy technologies, such as advanced gasoline technologies, diesel
engines, and electric hybrids (this position would probably be in Ann
Arbor)
an engineer or researcher with demonstrated expertise on renewable
fuels, particularly those fuel/feedstock options with large
life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions reduction potential (this
position would probably be in Ann Arbor)
a transportation economist who will work to improve the
transportation modules of existing macroeconomic models and interpret
economic analyses for non-economists (this position would probably be
in DC)
While grade and salary considerations are determined primarily by
individual experience and qualifications, I expect we will try to fill
most of our positions at the GS-13 levels, with salaries that range into
the 80s. An exceptional candidate could be considered for a higher
level position.
While we will be working through formal Agency hiring procedures, we
would be very interested if you know of any potential candidates. We
are most interested in finding a small number of highly qualified
candidates who come with recommendations of people we trust.
Accordingly, please do not forward this message on to others, but please
contact me with the names of any candidates that you would recommend.
If you don't have specific candidates in mind, but could recommend other
people we could contact for potential candidates, that would be helpful
as well.
