Hello Jonathan,
We've been trying to figure out what is going on here. The best idea we
have is this (so far)
None of us (at RSI) have encountered this problem before. It could be
because you are writing across the network and perhaps you get some network
hiccups. It also depends on how big 'large' is for your files - perhaps you
lack the space or permissions to the space you are writing your files to. I
imagine this is not easily testable either. I (And my tech support help -
Mari) would first suggest you try and write locally to see if it is a
network issue.
Let me know if this helps.
Best Regards,

Subject: ENVI 3.5 and 4.0 failing to output rule image
I'm running a max likelihood on both envi 3.5 and, to compare, 4.0 (I need
3.5 because I need the probability rule images, and not the chi-square
modified ones which post 3.5 is all you can get). When I output a rule
image, the ml fails before it even hits 1% (although it does produce a
sizable output rule image file). However, if I disable output of the rule
image, producing the class image works fine. Any ideas? I'm writing across
a network on windows xp -- are there any weird failures for large files
being transferred or is it something specific to ENVI?
