The salmon industry of Australia says it has sound reasons for wanting
to
Canadian Salmon out of Australia. The salmon industry points to the
news
today, which says the fish disease ISA or Infectious Salmon Anemia has
been
found in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Tony Smithies, the Executive Officer of the Tasmanian Salmonid Growers
Association, says the disease has already seen the slaughter of millions
of
fish in New Brunswick and Scotland, leading to substantial job losses
and
government compensation pay outs.
