Rapid Test Kit Workshop - Natural Toxins, Allergens, and Veterinary
Residues
Much in the press has appeared regarding concerns about adequate control
of contaminants, industrial and natural, in various foods and
ingredients both domestic and in imports. On the chemical side, the
targets include a wide range of analytes from phycotoxins and other
natural toxins to allergens and veterinary residues, among others. This
event will include training via lectures and hands-on experience with
ELISAs and field tests to address these timely analytical challenges.
Multiple test kit vendors will participate.
The workshop will precede the 2008 Pacific NW AOAC Annual Summer Meeting
(with which it is associated) to be held June 18 and 19. The annual
meeting will also include presentations in multiple topics in analytical
chemistry, ELISA development, nanotechnology, marine and freshwater
toxins, , virology and human health, microbiology, method validation.
There will also be a Marine and Freshwater Toxins Task Force open
session.
Location: Washington State Health Laboratory, Seattle, WA. Dates: June
16 and 17, 2008. Course Fee, TBD (tentatively $200-$300 range) with
