The PFT abstracts will be posted on the PFT web site by January 20,
2008.
Over 120 abstracts were submitted for this meeting. Quite an event is
in store with current seafood topics of concern being addressed
including:
* FDA's report on their risk assessment on mercury;
* Selenium in mercury research;
* FDA;s seafood list update and reported substitution cases;
* Species identification programs
* Rapid identification of imported Asian catfish after cooking
* Update on FDA Hazards Guide revision and status
* Environmental management
* Marketing (including exports to the EU, green trade, and Better
Seafood Bureau)
* Expert tips on complying with a seafood audit or panel
* Research in seafood: safety, chemistry, by-products, processing
and protein
The early bird registration rate is due January 9, 2008.
The hotel rate of $89/night (plus 14.07%) for single or double occupancy
is due January 9. (The date for reservations may be extended, on space
availability. Sign-up early to reserve your space.)
