Chris, you are confusing the HACCP MOU with any other MOU or agreement
between the US and other countries. As of today there are no MOU for
HACCP as published in the 21 CFR part 123 but other agreements are in
place such as Molluscan Shellfish and low-acid canned foods. Several
countries (Canada, New Zealand, Chile, etc) have MOU for raw molluscan
    shellfish (www.issc.org).

    Hope this helps

Subject: MOU between US and Canada

    Dear All,

My understanding was that no Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) exist
for seafood currently with the FDA although several are in various
    stages of negotiation.

At the same time I keep hearing that there is an MOU in place for
Molluscan Shellfish with Canada, allowing importation of molluscan
shellfish, if approved by the CFIA.

Can anyone clear up this issue and if there is an MOU in place ideally
    provide documentation references?

    Appreciate the help.

    Regards,

    Chris Denmark
