    PACIFIC FISHERIES TECHNOLOGISTS
    58th Annual Meeting, Hermosillo, MEXICO
    February 18-21, 2007 – Universidad de Sonora
     
    Join us for the 58th Annual Meeting of the Pacific Fisheries Technologists.
    The meeting will be held February 18-21, 2007 at the Arts Center of the Universidad de Sonora in Hermosillo, MEXICO.
    We are working hard to bring you an interesting program and we invite participants from industry (harvesting, processing and retail), academia, and government agencies to three days of presentations, discussions, and social interaction.

    FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS
    Technical and scientific papers with a focus on seafood products and technology in the following areas would be appropriate:
    · Seafood Biochemistry, Microbiology, Processing, Engineering and Safety
    · Seafood Marketing
    · Value-added Products
    · Waste/ Byproducts
    · Aquaculture and Feeds
    · Shellfish
    · Fish Harvesting and Handling
    · Marine Biology
    · Environmental Issues
    · Current Regulatory Issues
     
    Please contact us if you and others are interested in a session on a more focused topic.
    There will be oral presentations and a poster session. Oral presentations must fit into 20-
    minute time slots, so plan on a 15-minute presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions
    and discussion. Each poster must fit onto a 4.2 ft by 5.9 ft space and be readable from a few
    feet away. The deadline for papers is December 15th, 2006, please fill the electronic form at http://www.pft2007.uson.mx/callforpapers.htm
     and send your abstract to the program chair, José Luis Cárdenas at the e-mail (pft2007@guayacan.uson.mx) with your 200 word max. abstract. Put ABSTRACT in the subject line. Please be sure to state if you are a student submitting your paper for the travel award competition.
