    Senior Shellfish Hygiene Scientist, Ref: 63/06 c£22,428 to £28,266 pa

    As a key member of our integrated and highly motivated Shellfish Hygiene team you will undertake assessments of sources of microbiological contamination in shellfish production areas as well as being responsible for the work programme and supervising associated fieldwork. An understanding of microbiological public health issues, associated monitoring programmes and the effect of point and non-point sources of contamination is as vital to the role as a degree in biology/microbiology. You will have fieldwork experience and be confident in presenting the results of your work. You will also be methodical, have excellent attention to detail, possess sound communication skills and have a flexible and committed approach to you work.

    Experienced Analytical Chemist, Ref: 66/06 c£29,568 to £50,007 pa

    We seek a skilled and experienced analytical chemist to join our expanding team focussed on surveillance of algal toxins and other contaminants in seafood. As a key professional you will take a leading role in our development programme implementing analytical techniques for algal biotoxin monitoring and in building our underpinning research base and international profile. You will have a PhD in chemistry and have at least 5 years experience in cutting edge analytical techniques (particularly HPLC and LC-MS). You will have a track record of innovation and publication and good project management skills. This post offers an exciting opportunity for skilled candidates to establish a leading position in the field. The salary range reflects a flexible approach to filling this post.
