Unfortunately, Myxosporidean protozan parasites are quite common in salt water fish, particularly those of the North Pacific. When visible, they normally appear as white or dark spots in the flesh (resembling salt and pepper) and a common indicator is that the fish flesh liquefies at cooking temperatures.

Good MorningI'm hopeful someone on the list serv can assist me.We have encountered a large volume of sashi yellowfin and big eye this year.The sashi (as called) is a clear pocket running through out the loins.I have been asked by my supplier if this could be Myxosporidean protozan parasites?
