Dear All,
Dr. Robert J. Price, retired University of California Seafood Grant
Extension Program specialist passed away very peacefully on 2:30 EDT at
Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
A service is being planned for Saturday, June 10, 2006 in Davis,
California.
More specific details will follow as soon as possible. A notification
will also be posted on the Seafood Network Information Center web site as

Please SHARE this notice with people who may have known Bob. I"m not sure
that I've alerted everyone who knew Bob via this message. (Bernadine,
please alert the NCIFT and the Old Guard. Roger, please alert the SCIFT.
Rob, please alert the California Fisheries and Seafood Institute. Bob,
please announce via the National Fisheries Institute. Carol, please
forward to UCD FS&T.)
Bob's passing is a tremendous loss to the seafood, Cooperative Extension,
and University of California community. He was one of the most respected
seafood professionals worldwide. He created both the Seafood HACCP
Mailing list, and the Seafood Network Information Center. He was a member
of the Seafood HACCP Alliance which helped develop the training curriculum
to comply with the US Food and Drug Administration's Seafood HACCP
Regulation. On the Alliance he was charged with developing the
"Compendium" which is a supportive tool for developing HACCP plans. We
will miss a wonderful friend and colleague!
Pamela
