    Dear Colleagues:

Always to talk about the net weight will be
controversial I think. Some companies are using now
for whole shrimp a method after thawing and drain to
put the content in tissue paper to absorb the excess
of water and then weigh the contents. It is this
correct?. Moreover for peeled glazed shrimp in block,
the standards methods mention open the package and put
the content in sink under spray of cold water until
thawing, but I usually don't open the final plastic
bag and let the running chilled water until the
content have been thawed, because I think that in
peeled shrimp some moisture can be absorbed. Is this
correct, also?. Does exist any standard method for
determining the net weight for shrimp treated with
    trypolyphosphates as well?

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Best regards,
    Francisco Camino
