Today I've been in contact with Peter Howgate (former Torry Research
Station Director, Aberdeen, UK -- retired) who has brought to my attention
that an update of EU legislation was published in the current issue of the
International Journal of Food Science and Technology, vol 40, no. 10, p.
1021-1112. The IJFST contents page is at:
    http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/loi/ifs

Peter notes that "the complete issue is given over to 'An update of EU
legislation (Directives and Regulations) on food-related issues (safety,
hygiene, packaging, technology, GMOs, additives, radiation, labelling):
    presentation and comments'. A section, pp1099-1106, and a table, no. 23, p
1100, summarises and tabulates respectively the legislation specific to
fishery products, but, additionally, many provisions of the general
legislation referred to in the paper - HACCP, packaging, labelling,
additives, and such like - are applicable to these products."

This paper may answer a lot of questions that youmight have about the EU
    regulations.
