A postdoctoral position in Food Microbiology is available in the Food
Science and Technology Program at the University of Maryland Eastern
Shore, Princess Anne, MD beginning January 2006. The project
involves the study of growth and survival of Vibrio vulnificus and V.
parahaemolyticus in oysters and the development of predictive models.
A doctoral degree with expertise in microbiology, predictive
microbiology, and molecular biology is required. Experience in sensory
evaluation is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate excellent
interpersonal skills, as well as excellent oral and written
communication skills.
