I am going back a couple of years with the content of this answer but I
think I am still correct in saying that in the UK we have labelling
descriptions of crab flavour and crab flavoured surimi products (using the
example of a crab replica surimi product). Crab flavour is made using an
artificial flavouring agent, whilst crab flavoured means it has real crab in
it, which has contributed to the flavour, i.e. it has been flavoured with
crab.
The UK’s labelling regs refer but are long, confusing and very boring.
I hope this helps.

The US is the only country requires the imitation label on such products.
In the rest of countries, they call it as crab-flavored seafood. Since
there is no standard of the US identity for the product, there is no
specification on how much surimi and/or crabmeat can be added into the
product.

Does anyone know the definition of Imitation Crabmeat? Is there a certain %
of crabmeat required to be in Imitation Crabmeat?
