    Workshop 1: September 19 - 21, 2005 in Can Tho, Vietnam
Workshop 2: September 24 - 26, 2005 in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam

Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters & Producers (VASEP) - organizer and sponsor

In cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (USFDA)

    The course objectives are to:

    1. Update and improve awareness of accepted or rejected sensory criteria increments in the frozen shrimp that is imported to the USA.

    2. Provide training that is essential in calibrating human noses and fostering understanding on how and why imported seafood shipments are accepted or rejected based on US FDA decomposition standards and regulations.

    3. Train participants in USFDA sensory instructors methods to recognize up to seven increments of quality (from highest to lowest) and to determine borderline pass and fail judgments.

The training at the course will help the participants recognize whether or not a shipment will be accepted or rejected at the U.S. border.
