    Event Details

Bioterrorism -- what are the real risks? What can be done? With the recent
slew of federal bioterrorism regulations and customer food security
expectations, food processors are faced with costly and time-consuming
requirements. To provide solutions to these challenges, the University of
Idaho and TechHelp are offering a two-day Practical Food Security Workshop.
Participants will learn how to develop a security program, and will be
updated on new FDA regulations dealing with registration, detention, prior
notice for imports, and record keeping.

Although the main thrust of government programs is handling bioterrorism
incidents, workshop participants will learn cutting edge tactics to prevent
intentional food contamination. The workshop provides a fresh look at this
perplexing new area for the food industry, by presenting practical, yet cost
effective security strategies. Participants will learn these techniques
through a hands-on, interactive approach to building a plant security
    system.
