    Dear Seafood HACCP Mailing List,
To predict shelf-life of fresh seafood the Seafood Spoilage Predictor (SSP) software was released in January 1999. Now a new and markedly expanded software, the Seafood Spoilage and Safety Predictor (SSSP), is available free of charge at www.dfu.min.dk/micro/sssp/. SSSP predicts shelf-life and growth of bacteria in different fresh and lightly preserved seafoods and the software has the ability to evaluate the effect of product temperature profiles recorded over time by data loggers. The software includes (i) a model to predict the simultaneous growth of Listeria monocytogenes and spoilage bacteria in cold-smoked salmon, (ii) models for relative rates of spoilage to predict the effect of temperature on shelf-life, (c) models for growth of spoilage bacteria in specific seafoods, (d) modules that allow observed shelf-life or growth of bacteria to be compared with predictions from SSSP.

Are you interested in using the SSSP software is languages other than English and Danish? SSSP is developed as a multi-language software and a separate SSSP-language translator module is avialable. If you are interested in new language versions of SSSP and willing to participate in the translation of the software, please let me know.

    With best regards
