To: Seafood HACCP Mailing List Subscribers
    Fr: Pamela Tom, Listserv Owner

Please note, a bogus message using my login identifcation ("szptom") was
sent from a subscriber's computer today. The person's computer apparently
has both my e-mail address and is also subscribed to the seafood listserv.
So that is how the message most likely was sent to this listesrv. I was
able to identify the subscriber's identity and have temporarily removed
    him from the list.

Here's what the message (minus the viral file attachment which is not
attached in this message) looks like:

    >From pdtom@ucdavis.edu Sun Jul 18 12:38:30 2004
    Date: Sun, 18 Jul 2004 10:10:27 -0800
    From: Szptom <pdtom@ucdavis.edu>
    To: Seafood <seafood@ucdavis.edu>
    Subject: Re:

    Screen

        [ Part 2, Application/OCTET-STREAM (Name: "Dog.exe") 32KB. ]
[ Unable to print this part. ]

The above situation is the reason why subscribers to this listserv are
asked to refrain from sending file attachments and to routinely (ie. at
least weekly) update their antiviral software.
