I have done plenty of inspections overseas and the use of "continental"
toilets is not in and of itself "not sanitary". Employee hygiene after use
is the key. If the facilities are maintained in a sanitary manner and the
employees wash properly and use foot-baths ect. It must be a customer
requirement. Were the inspectors with the Moroccan Government? In the USA
it is not uncommon to find foreign workers squatting on our toilets. I
would focus on what is done after use.
