Dear seafood list members,
I am looking for a student who might be interested in pursuing graduate
studies at the Fishery Industrial Technology Center, School of Fisheries
and Ocean Sciences, University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). Our mission
is to assist the Alaska seafood industry in areas such as seafood
safety, processing, quality control and new product development. We
offer an interdisciplinary degree program in Seafood Science through the
UAF Graduate School
<http://www.uaf.edu/gradsch/general/degrees/INDS/index.html>. Most
classes and the research are conducted in Kodiak.
Two years of funding starting in January 2004 will be available for one
graduate student at the M.S. level. Interested students, having a
strong background in food microbiology, may contact me directly through
e-mail <ffbhh@uaf.edu> for details about the research project.
Undergraduate transcripts, GRE scores, TOEFL scores, graduate study
plan, and three letters of recommendation are required in the
application. Additional information and application forms are available
on-line through the UAF Graduate School <http://www.uaf.edu/gradsch/>.
