This November, the U.S. FDA is conducting informational meetings across
the U.S. on how to comply with the new FDA Bioterrorism Act's
"Registration" and "Prior Notice" final rules.
Goal: To provide an overview of the new FDA final rules and the U.S.
Customs and Border Protection processing procedures for implementing the
following sections of the Public Health Security and Bioterrorism
Preparedness and Response Act of 2002 ("the Bioterrorism Act") (P.L.
107-188):
Section 305: Registration of Food Facilities
Section 307: Prior Notice of Imported Food Shipments
Target Audience: Domestic owners, operators or agents in charge of
domestic food facilities that manufacture, process, pack or hold food
under FDA's jurisdiction for human or animal consumption in the United
States and persons that import or offered for import food under FDA's
jurisdiction into the United States.
