Dear all
To the best of my knowledge, Europeans and Americans have different ways in looking at sulphites. The later prefer to inform the consumer and leave him/her with their choice of buying or not. This vision is however conditionned by a threshold of 10 ppm ( not 100 ppm). For Europe, the consumer is supposed to be protected because he/she does not have the means to inspect the products. So, for sulphites in shrimps, the EU max residue is 150 ppm.
