Hi Alex and Mailing List Subscribers,

Unfortunately, the problem cannot totally be avoided because new computer
viruses continue to emerge (and mutate!) beyond our control.

UC Davis updates its virus protection software daily at 6 am. But newly
formed virus might slip through the system in between. So, there is no
guarantee that the files will always be rendered harmless. Fortunately,
we're better off than we were a year ago. At that time, UC Davis didn't
    even have virus scanning software.

Protecting the integrity of this mailing list and SeafoodNIC website
(http://seafood.ucdavis.edu) are my primary concern. I'm doing what I can
to ensure your best interests in accessing virus free information.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact me. :)
