FAS Albacore Tuna

    This is always the best place for finding information from the experts,and I am again looking for help with Albacore that I can't seem to find in the hazards guide. We have always purchased fresh albacore from our small troll fleet but we are looking to expand into buying FAS Albacore so we can loin and retort during the slower months when the fresh isn't available.Some of these boats fish for 30 + days at a time . I am comfortable with what the FDA requires us to do with the fresh boats,we require a Harvest vessel log and also a recieving log at the dock ,we temp. and check for decomp. refusing any fish that doesn't fit the criteria . The guide book references are for "not frozen" fish.
    What will be acceptable to the FDA with the frozen fish so we can avoid costly histamine testing? What paperwork might we ask these boats to keep? Thanks. Anne Espedal
