Dear menbers
Mercury in glass thermomenters with specific characteristics as range of the scale, size, temperature resolution and other conditions are considered regulatory requeriments in US and other countries . Other instruments based in different principles as platinum resistance thermometers are also used and acepted by the inspection authorities also under certain capacities and conditions. Does thermometers with aliphatic hidrocarbon insted of mercury with the same characteristics of tthose required for canning and are also acepted in US from the regulatory point of view ? I would like to have any information or opinion on the subject.
