Please note, the Seafood Network Information Center web site needs to be
taken off line for about 48 hours (when I can find a block of time). I
need to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the program. Pamela Tom

I am posting the following inquiry on behalf of Guiseppe Arcangeli.
Please direct your replies to either this mailing list or directly to
    Guiseppe at: garcangeli@izsvenezie.it

My name is Giuseppe Arcangeli, I'm a veterinary employed in a public
laboratory (Istituto Zooprofilattico delle Venezie, via L. da Vinci, 39 -
Adria - Italy). My interest is the seafood safety.

I have a question on the following photos:

    http://seafood.ucdavis.edu/listserv/loin1.jpg
    http://seafood.ucdavis.edu/listserv/loin2.jpg

appear a tuna loin (Yellowfin tuna) were on the surface
there are many white small spots. Tuna come from Marshall islands.
Is it possible to be the so called "sashi"?
Is it a parasite? Is an hazard for the human health?

Thank you very much, regards G. Arcangeli
