    Introductory Food Microbiology Short Course

    Course objectives:
    * Get a good understanding of the selected theoretical and practical
    principles of food microbiology.

    * Improve existing microbiological laboratory skills.

    * Gain new microbiological skills.

    * Become qualified for positions in microbiology and/or QA/QC
    laboratories in the food industry.
     
    Instructor:
    Dr. Gulhan Unlu Yuksel, Assistant professor in the Department of Food
    Science and Toxicology and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of
    Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry. Research interests
    include functional genomics and bioinformatics, bioconversion of food
    processing waster to value-added products, food biopreservation, food
    microbiology, microbial food safety, and dairy microbiology.
