Further to all the recent discussions about histamine testing I have a related question. Does anyone out there have any experience that they are willing to share regarding histamine testing kits / procedures that are reliable and are easy enough to be carried out in a commercial fish industry, non laboratory, setting.

Here at Sydney Fish Market we have a need for a fairly rapid (<18 hours) testing procedure which we could carry out preferably ourselves here on site. We currently use the Australian Governments analytical service for this work and the problem is that it takes too long (2 - 3 weeks to get a result) which is not very useful with fresh tuna's, etc.

    Regards,
