    Hello Pam,

    How are you? I am hiring a Laboratory Technician for my work. Here is the
    advertisement. Could you please circulate the Job advertisement via Seafood
    mailing list.

    OPENING DATE: January 31, 2003
    CLOSING DATE: February 14, 2003

    TYPICAL DUTIES: The successful applicant will conduct biochemical and
    physical analyses on fish oil, edible films, and fish protein using both
    automated and manual techniques. Post-processed sample data will be
    entered into a spreadsheet on a PC system where limited calculations will
    be made.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of standard laboratory methods is
    necessary. The technician must be able to perform routine fish handling
    and processing; have skill in conducting routine laboratory experiments
    and collecting data; be familiar with computers and college level
    mathematics. The ability to work with limited supervision, follow oral and
    written instruction, and maintain logbooks of progress is needed. The
    ability to learn and use statistical database or literature search
    software programs is required. Knowledge of standard laboratory methods is
    necessary. EDUCATION: A B.S. in Food Science/Engineering/Biology/Chemistry
    /Biochemistry or related field, or equivalent experience is required.
