The seafood HACCP discussion mailing list is now 7 years old and currently
has 820 subscribers worldwide among 52 countries.

The acceptable and unacceptable use policies are on our web site at:
    http://seafood.ucdavis.edu/listserv/listinfo.htm

The only reminder that I'd like to share with everyone is the policy
against e-mailing attached files. Some attachments are large and they are
rejected by mailboxes with a quota size. Well guess what? Those rejected
messages bounce right back into both Bob Price's and my inboxes! Also,
there have been previous concerns about files containing viruses, etc.
So the policy for this mailing list is to refrain from sending attached
files with the caveat of "open at your own risk".

There are alternative ways of sharing information on this mailing list:

    1. Include the information in the text portion of your message instead of
    an attached file.

    2. Announce the file availability so that interested subscribers can
contact you directly for the information.

    3. Provide the web address of the file(s) in your message if the
information is available on the Internet.

    4. If you have no Internet means of posting the information that you want
to share with this global seafood community, please e-mail me
(pdtom@ucdavis.edu) directly and I will work with you in temporarily
hosting the information (depending on the file's size) on our web site at
    http://seafood.ucdavis.edu

On another note...the UCD computer folks are involved with implementing
anti-viral software for campuswide communications. By the end of this
month the software should be in place. We can never become complacent in
protecting our computers against viruses. Please remember to update your
personal antiviral software on a regular basis.
