    The USDA, FDA and University of Puerto Rico are sponsoring a conference on
    Animal and Egg Production Food Safety, July 9-11 at the Caribe HIlton San
    Juan Hotel, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The conference (conducted in
    Spanish, with translation devices available) will review food safety
    practices and research at the animal production level and provide
    information on industry quality assurance activities. Items to be
    discussed at the conference include HACCP-based animal production food
    safety principles, seafood safety, animal feeds, backyard slaughter,
    antimicrobial resistance, and biosecurity.
