Are you seeking a job that combines creativity, challenge and lifestyle?
Our Seafood Research Team is seeking a motivated and experienced scientist
to lead and develop R&D projects in seafood science, protein
characterisation and extraction, and the development of novel food
products and functional protein ingredients. You will have:
a post-graduate qualification and research experience in a
relevant field (e.g. food science, biochemistry, food chemistry, food
technology, bioprocess technology),
a good understanding of how well-focussed science can underpin the
development of innovative products and technologies for New Zealand
exporters,
the ability to be a respected leader in your areas of expertise.
Your recent research experience might be related to understanding and
manipulating the behaviour of proteins or enzymes in foods or to the
characterisation, separation and preservation of functional proteins from
naturally-grown raw materials. Experience working with seafood raw
materials is desirable, but not essential. You will be able to demonstrate
success at writing R&D proposals, leading R&D projects for Government or
commercial clients and publishing scientific results. Most importantly,
you will be passionate about contributing to the future success of the
seafood and allied product sectors.
You will report to the Seafood Team Leader, and may be based in either
Nelson or Auckland. To discuss how you might build a strong science-based
career in our team, please contact TC Chadderton by phone 025 249 9134 or
email chaddertont@crop.cri.nz.
