In the US Chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine are not approved food
additives
They may be used in food supplement products, like pills and drink mixes
etc. that are clearly labeled as supplements but they may not be added to
foods as such

Inquiry on Glycosaminoglycan and Chondroitin Sulfate from Seafoods and
Marine organisms
Dear List:
I would like to inquire from the group who have worked; currently
working on the subject of Chondroitin Sulfate; or have any info on the
subject. I need current info and referral to the following;
IS there a dedicated website on Chondroitin Sulfate or
Glycosaminoglycan??
Status of the current uses of Chondroitin Sulfate;
1. As Food Ingredient
Dairy food fortification?
Chocolates and confectionaries(candies, etc)?
Is there a standard min dose requirements/day standard?
2. As Vitamin Suplement Ingredient
In combination with vitamins and minerals?
Is there a standard??
3. As Feed Ingredient?
Assistance in any form will be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Jose
