Although I recognize good intentions in alerting the mailing list, I'm
asking all subscribers to please verify the validity of any suspect virus
and (if possible) offer a solution before posting an alert on this Seafood
Mailing List.
Here are ways to check the validity:
-type the name of the virus and use a search engine (i.e., google.com)
-search the name of the virus with well known anti-viral programs such as:
F-secure http://www.europe.f-secure.com/hoaxes/perrin.shtml
McAffee http://vil.mcafee.com/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=10417&
Symantec
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/perrin.exe.virus.hoax.html
Thanks for your cooperation.
