I'm forwarding an update on the Pacific Fisheries Technologists meeting
on behalf of Joe McGrath, PFT President 2001-2002. The meeting takes
place February 24-27, 2002 in Reno, NV at the Silver Legacy Resort.

Dear Fellow PFT Members,

The 54th Pacific Fisheries Technologists schedule, abstracts, and
registration form are on the web at:

There will be 45 presentations among these sessions:
- Roe Production, Processing and Marketing,
- Biochemistry of Aquatic Food Products,
- Regulatory Issues and Aquatic Food Products,
- By-Products from Aquatic Organisms, Microbiology and Safety of Aquatic
- Foods, Processing/Technological Innovation with Aquatic Food Products,
  and
- Posters.

Speakers from: Australia, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, India, and the US are
participating at this international meeting. In addition, fourteen
graduate students from nine Universities have entered the Graduate Student
Competition for 'Student Travel Awards.'

You can still register to attend this year's Annual Meeting. All events
will be held at the Silver Legacy Hotel, Reno, Nevada, beginning Sunday,
February 24 with the President's Reception.

Remember to mention you're attending the PFT meeting when making your room
reservations, as this will affect our budget in a positive way. The Hotel
