    Dear Gabriel:

It depends on what aquaculture product, but for shrimp, based on the F&FP Hazards & Controls guidance (3rd ed), there is no allowance for antibiotics in the final product (and chloranphenicol is a forbidden one), and also the US requirements for aquaculture pond managing, do not allow any antibiotics use in shrimp culture, but in the practice this will be a great problem for dealing with the WSSV

    Best regards,

    Daniel N.T.

      Dear members:

Restriction of chloranphenicol use for aquaculture
products has been ordered by government in Ecuador.
But officers go beyond, they wanted to restrict all
related compounds, including florfenicol, that is
almost same chloranphenicol molecule, but without
amino radical and fluor atom included.

What do you think guys about this? I agree with
      chloranfenicol restriction but doubt about
      florfenicol.

      Regards
