In reply to your comment .I am a Quality Control supervisor for Bornstein Seafoods and can speak for the two plants that I oversee as well as the other Bornstein plants. We spend a great deal of time being involved everyday as a presence on the floor watching and monitoring all areas of production. For me alot of the paperwork I do on my own time , you may have encountered a few processors that do not take HACCP
seriously but I believe those are the exceptions and not the rule.

      Dear list members,
May I bring your kind attention to a funny situation where the word ' haccp' evokes laughter.
In India all seafood exporters to America claim they have implemented and is working under
the 'haccp' system.some even sports bold haccp labels on their product covers.every one is keeping the 'sacredbook'-haccp manual.as further proof every processor is maintaining a large no.of registers .the govt. of India agencies who were having no role in the original haccp
scenario, occassionally inspect these documents now and enforces their whims and fancies.
Actually what happens is- most processors copy some other's haccp manual of the same type of product.except factory details most are ditto for the same type of product. due to the enormous amount of paperwork those responsible for the quality
control spend most of their time simply filling up the registers-yes without actually checking.
and on the actual production floor nothing has changed.
the saddest part is everybody think haccp is just increased paperwork when every field of human activity is using less and less paper.
dear list members pardon me if I am taking too much liberties,I hope to hear your valuable
comments and suggestions to save the situation.thank you in anticipation.
