    Dear seafood list members:

Are their any toxin hazards associated with Sea Squirts in the Styela (or
other) genus. The FDA hazards and controls guide does not list them but they
are in the animal kingdom and therefore would seem to fall under FDA
regulation. I've done a Google search on the subject and have more
information than I ever wanted to know about their life - but nothing on
hazards. One reference referred to their edibility by stating simply that it
was like "eating gristle with sand in it". But that is probably just a
    personal bias.
