Dear Corinne
A map and listing of the FAO fishing areas is available in FAO's yearbooks of Fishery Statistics, Catches and Landings. The map is also available on the FAO web site at www.fao.org/fi/statist/statist.asp, and also on some NOAA sites. These Internet maps do not show the names of the areas. I have attached a copy of the map in .gif format, and a listing of the names.
Given the unfortunate experience of worms and viruses included in attachments, I have swept these files with Norton virus protection and are clean by this criterion anyway.

Subject: New EU regulation
Dear group,
The EU has adopted a new regulation (regulation (EC) n°2065/2001 by the Commission, the 22d of October 2001) concerning the consumer information in the sector of the fishery products.
In this regulation there is a new requirement (for traceability) about the fishing area. Concerning this requirement, I know the CIEM areas very well but in the regulation they deal with FAO areas.
My request is : where can I find a map of the FAO fishing areas ?
