To: Seafood Mailing List
Fr: Pamela Tom, Mailing List Co-owner
As soon as Lewis' message today came across the mailing list, my eyes
opened very widely and I gave Lewis a call and chatted with him. I've
known Lewis for many years, we are friends. He was aghast to learn that
his message went across the mailing list. [Remember, senders to the
mailing list, do not get a copy of their message.]
Lewis immediately e-mailed a note of apology to the mailing list and
called me afterwards to inform me, and again apologized for what had
happened. I informed Lewis that this immediate action would help avoid
subscribers from sending him angry messages.
Unfortunately, I think Lewis' message is lost in cyberspace. (Lewis just
got a new computer recently.) In the meantime I received a very concerned
and angry message from a subscriber. So, I feel that it's necessary to
write this message to the mailing list to let you know that Lewis is aware
that the mailing list is inappropriate for the kind of message that he
sent, and that he is very sorry for offending anyone.
