My sympathy and prayers for all Americans and all the countries who mourn and share the pain that this tragic and cowardly act has brought to lives of so many. Words are so inadequate at times like this to express my sorrow. It is truly the worst of times and the best of time as we witness the indomitable spirit of a people who although in tremendous pain are unified in their resolve to heal and be healed, to be renewed in body mind and soul, to comfort and be comforted, to rise from the ashes of the evil that has been perpetrated with courage to overcome through the grace of God.
I am reminded of the courageous word of Paul to the Corinthian people many centuries ago but which speaks to us today:" But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed but not in despair, persecuted but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed( 1Cor.4:7-9). This stand as a living testament that good does and will triumph over evil as is currently being demonstrated by the outpouring prayers, love and service from our global village. May you and all those from other countries take comfort at this time and in the days ahead. May our leaders be given wisdom, as they seek to make decisions which undoubtedly will change our global environment . For those of you who pray or think positively now is the time to make that long term commitment to continue without cessation.
As Isa.40:31 encourages us; May you be renewed in strength, May you soar on wings like eagles; May you run and not grow weary, May you walk and not faint.
