Hi,
One of the biggest events happening in HACCP is the 4th World Fish
Inspection & Quality Control Congress to be held in Vancouver, Canada,
October 24-26, 2001. The Congress will have key speakers from FAO, FDA,
Thailand, Brazil, Iceland, Canada, U.S. and other countries give
presentations on HACCP Implementation, and on improvements in food quality
and safety systems. A
special round table will be held on harmonizing different country HACCP
systems and obtaining common agreements to facilitate trade. Other
workshops during the Congress will deal with Technology, Science and
Aquaculture issues.
Special workshops have also been organized in advance of the Congress,
including workshops on Sensory Evaluation, Risk Assessment and another on
Traceability. Following the Congress, participants may wish to take part in
a Study Tour of fish processing and inspection facilities on Vancouver
Island.
The Congress is sponsored by FAO and the International Association of Fish
Inspectors. John Emberley, former head of Fish Inspection in Canada, is the
Executive Director of IAFI , which is a non- profit group that represents
fish inspectors around the world.
