    The Third National Symposium on Marine Shrimp will be held on 8-9 November
    2001 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, Organized By
    Shrimp Biotechnology Program, National Center for Genetic ngineering and
    Biotechnology, National Science and Technology Development Agency Department
    of Fisheries, Thai Frozen Food Association, Thai Marine Shrimp Culture
    Association.

    The National Symposium on Marine Shrimp is the national technical meeting
    organized annually in the past two years: viz in 1999 (Songkhla) and 2000
    (Phuket). The Symposium aims to present the new knowledge, technology and
    innovation developed in Thailand and also the interesting topics from the
    invited speakers. As an added attraction, The 3rd symposium is organized as
    a part of BioThailand 2001: From Research to Market, the international event
    with the objective to showcase biotechnology development and trend to be
    held on 7-10 November 2001. This show will also feature the Annual Meeting
    of the Thai Society for Biotechnology, BioAlliance and exhibition from
    public and private sectors, thus giving participants an opportunity to
    attend the plenty of events in one trip.

    Scientists and other individuals wishing to present their research work are
    invited. All interested presenters must submit abstracts in English of not
    more than 250 words. Please send the abstract in hard copy and electronic
    file, along with the Paper Submission Form (in BioThailand 2001
    announcement) to BioThailand 2001 Secretariat not later than 15 August 2001.
    Technical papers can also be offered as poster presentations. In that case,
    the abstracts should be informative containing: Title, Authors (presenting
    author underlined), institution, specific objectives, method, summary of
    results and conclusions. Formulae, tables, figures, reference etc. can be
    included if within the allocated space.

    Authors of accepted papers (both oral and poster) must submit a full paper
    in English, in hard copy and electronic file, of not more than 7 A4s
    (inclusive of tables, figures, references etc. Photographs is accepted in
    the electronic form only) not later than 30 September 2001. The Full paper
    should comprise of title, authors, institutions, abstract, key words,
    introduction, materials, method, results, discussion, conclusion,
    acknowledgement and reference.
    Abstract and full paper must be typed within an area of 6.5 inch x 9 inch.
    Do not frame. Browalia New font, 16 pti for text, 18 pti for title and 11
    pti for Authors and institution. Any documents not in the described format,
    will not be considered and full paper will not be published in the symposium
    document. If participants or presenters has mentioned their e-mail address,
    the secretariat will use the e-mail as the main communication.
