To anybody that can provide some information on
the forced (pressurized) cleaning of oysters to remove
potential pathogens for raw oyster consumption.
Apparently this is a new procedure that is FDA
approved and takes the place of letting the harvested
oysters set in a clean environment and to purify
themselves. This method, some kind of way, uses a
pressurized method. I need some information on this
method, as we have a death here in Texas from Vibrio
vulnificus contamination in oysters that were
supposedly purified using that method. This was the
first death by consumption of oysters purified in this
manner and has potential for litigation.
