Richard,
quick question. what kind of boxes are you using? Have you looked at the
fish tub traditionally used on small boats here in Iceland (info:
www.borgarplast.is, www.saeplast.is
). They are big enough and insulated to minimise the loss of temperature
(energy). The can also be equiped with insulated cover from the
manufacturer.
If you want more info on the small boat (~6 metric tonnes) fishing fleet
here in Iceland, please let me know.

Subject: washable blankets to insulate fish boxes on small boat decks
Could someone on this list please provide me with a name and contact details
of a company that manufacturers approved, washable, thermal blankets to
insulate deck stored boxes full of iced fish.
Our inshore fleet of small boats has no option but to store their boxes of
line-caught fish on deck. With our summer approaching the fishermen need a
better way of slowing down the ice melt than the traditional method of using
damp newspapers and old carpets!
Thank you for any information supplied.
Best Wishes,
Yours sincerely,
Richard
