    Faculty Position Announcement

    Assistant Professor of Seafood Processing and/or Engineering
    UA - Fishery Industrial Technology Center, Kodiak AK
    (University of Alaska Fairbanks)

    The Fishery Industrial Technology Center (FITC), part of the School of
    Fisheries and Ocean Sciences in Kodiak Alaska, is searching for a new
    faculty member to develop a funded research program in seafood
    processing and/or engineering, while serving the needs of Alaska’s
    coastal communities. A significant portion of the tenure track faculty
    position involves public service in helping others solve the specific
    problems arising in the Alaska seafood industry. The successful
    candidate will work as part of our multidisciplinary team approach to
    problem solving. Other responsibilities include teaching formal and
    informal classes in seafood processing and/or engineering, as well as
    training and supervising graduate students.

    Nature of Position: This position advertisement is for a tenure track
    faculty member with FITC in Kodiak, Alaska. FITC’s mission is to
    increase the value of Alaska's seafood industry and marine resources.
    The purpose of this applied research position is to further FITC's
    mission through research, teaching and service in seafood processing
    and/or engineering.
