Everytime a nonsubscriber sends a message to the seafood listserv, I
receive an error message. One of today's messages raised my eyebrows and
prompted me to consult with our UC Davis Postmaster.

One of our subscribers' computers has the worm, "Snow White and the Seven
Dwarves." His or her machine sent a message to the listserv this morning,
but it has *BEEN BLOCKED* because the e-mail return address is not
    recognized as a subscriber.

A description of this worm and attachment name is defined on the Symantec
    website
    at: http://service1.symantec.com/sarc/sarc.nsf/html/W95.Hybris.gen.html

I strongly recommend that you install virus protection software and
routinely update it to guard against worms and viruses from *ANY* e-mail
sources. If you haven't recently checked your system for viruses
recently, it would be a good idea to do so.

A sample of what the message looks like is attached. I have deleted the
attachment so the contents of the message below is safe (though a bit
    unsavory).

    Hello Pam,

Thanks for the information. So Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is
sticking its head out again....in Spanish none the less.

    regards,
    Mike
