We are pleased to inform you Dr. Mike Moody has been offered and
has
accepted the position of Head of the Department of Food Science. Dr.
Moody
will assume this responsibility January 1, 2001. He will maintain a
partial
appointment in the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service and LSU Sea
Grant. His appointment in the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station
will be increased and he will have an appointment in the LSU A&M College
of
Agriculture. Dr. Moody was highly recommended by the Search Committee
and
the Department of Food Science faculty and students. We are very
pleased
that Dr. Moody has accepted this responsibility and believe he will
provide
outstanding leadership for the research teaching and extension
components of
the Department. We are grateful to Dr. Sam Godber for providing
outstanding
interim leadership for the Department and to the Search Committee for
their
efforts to identify highly qualified candidates for this position.
