    Greetings seafood types.

I'm new to this list although I know a few of you. I work for the
Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in
Tasmania, Australia, most recently helping put together guides to our
    diverse seafood (eg, see http://www.marine.csiro.au/cmr_pubs).

My request today concerns Macruronus novaezelandiae, which is both
caught locally and imported from NZ, and M. magellanicus, which is
imported from S. America. How do these products compare with respect
to eating qualities? I imagine they're pretty similar but does anyone
know for sure? Is the NZ hoki considered the premium product of the
    two on the world stage?

Hope someone can help - Richard Lord or Nick Ruello, do you know these beasts?

    Best regards,

    Gus
