provides an opportunity to identify food safety priorities associated with
aquatic foods linked to the USDA-CSREES National Integrated Food Safety
Initiative.

> The Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES)
> will conduct a Listening Session for the National Integrated Food Safety
> Initiative on November 15, 2000. The Listening Session will be open to
> the public, and all are encouraged to attend. The session will be
> sponsored by Iowa State University in support of the National Integrated
> Food Safety Initiative, which is a component of CSREES's Integrated
> Research, Education, and Extension Competitive Grants Program. In Fiscal
> Year 2000 approximately $14.2 million were awarded for integrated food
> safety grants.

> The purpose of the Listening Session will be to identify food safety
> priorities from the perspectives of industry, consumers, academia, and
> federal partners, and to develop recommendations for incorporating those
